Hooboy, I’m going to hear from Peta on this one if I explain it but a cheap way to neuter a cat/dog/pig is with “neutering wire”, it’s an old farm thing, trust me, you don’t want to know. If you do, message me; however, I won’t take any fault for your bad dreams though.

Thanks to my proofreader for helping me out on this strip as neutering isn’t spelled nuetering. There’s no spell check when you hand letter a cartoon. One day I’ll invent that and others improvements on how to create a comic strip, until then, thanks to Trent for making me look good weekly!

While I’m away for a bit, a friend is helping out by illustrating this week’s strip. Trent Cross is my proof reader and graciously took up the mantle to tackle the cartooning tasks for this week’s toon. Thanks TC!

I’m getting my creative juices flowing by re-reading comic creation books such as Halfpixel’s infinitely helpful How to Make Web Comics, the illustrated guide to Hokusai’s work, and Scott McCloud’s industry setting standard works Making Comics and Understanding Comics, both work a long hard read. Turns out, I’ve more ideas that I have yet to  write and draw for this strip, so stay tooned!

I’m shutting this strip down for awhile. I’ve kept a weekly schedule going for just over two years but have to step away from it right now. No one expects him, but Death came, and life isn’t funny right now. You, as a web comic reader, come here looking for a little laugh, not burdens, so I’ll be back when I can provide that for you again.

Keep in mind that in 1873, Dr. Bird, a city councilor, was tarred for ruling that Winnipeg’s incorporation was out of order, so we have a history of being VERY careful with names since that time.

Completely serious, the new name of Winnipeg’s NEW multi-million dollar Rapid Transit System is… the Rapid Transit System. Check it out if you don’t believe me. Oh sure, they’ve added a location descriptor, but let’s not get specific or anything, let’s call it the SouthWest Rapid Transit System (of course it’s more exactly in the central part heading straight south so that’s almost worth another cartoon). Sigh.

I’m not saying that the marketing department in city hall is to blame, I’m pretty sure that they weren’t even called in on this one, but C’MON!!! Make an effort Winnipeg, Vancouver has the SkyTrain, San Fran has the BART, we can do better with something that we’re going to be stuck with for many years..

This cool cat is Frankie, obviously a big fan, literary fan that is, and a little too hooked on the black juice.

I blame the mug, it lures you into drinking large, unhealthy amounts of coffee. So get your own DAYD coffee mug in my store and display your own addiction proudly! Send me a pic of you (or your pet) and my mug and I’ll paste it here!

The artwork on the wall in this cartoon strip is a little special. My kids are working on a story, with a plot lone so convoluted and revolutionary, they can’t explain it to me. Or won’t. At any rate, there’s a lot of pirates and some gold. The storyline eludes me from this cover drawing (is that a flemenca dancer???) I’ll hold judgement on these hacks encroaching on my illustrative storytelling schtick till I see the finished products.. And since this cartoon is my virtual office, it can have some of my kids art, like my other offices. Click for larger version.
